Yamashita Hobby 1:700
The destroyer Kikuzuki was built as the ninth ship of the Mutsuki-class destroyers, and was originally named "Destroyer No. 31," but she was later renamed Kikuzuki. At the start of the war, she belonged to the air squadron, but the Asashio-class and Kagero-class destroyers with long cruising distances served as direct guards. In April 1942, she was deployed in the Port Moresby offensive. However, on May 4, she was attacked by a U.S. carrier-based aircraft while she was refueling from the laying ship Okishima; she sat on the coast of Gabutu Island and then sank, but she was pulled up by the U.S. military and investigated.
