Vee Hobby 1:700 kit
Introducing the new 1/700 Light Cruiser USS Oakland "Deluxe Edition" from V-Hobby.
The Oakland served as the fifth ship of the Atlanta-class light cruisers, commissioned in 1943. During 1943, she supported Operation Galvanic and participated in the Battle of Kwajalein in 1944, as well as the Battle of the Mariana Islands in June and the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October. After the war, she was engaged in Operation Magic Carpet, was decommissioned in March 1959, and dismantled in December of the same year. The mast and nameplate of the Oakland were donated to the city of Oakland, which the ship was named after. The Oakland received nine battle stars for her service during World War II.
The kit features an injection plastic hull; the "Standard Edition" includes decals, while the "Deluxe Edition" comes with additional etching, metal gun barrels, deck mask seals, and more. This is a fantastic kit that beautifully replicates the Oakland at sea in 1945 with exquisite details.
