Vee Hobby 1:700 kit
The US Navy light cruiser USS San Diego served as the third Atlanta-class cruiser when it was commissioned in 1942. This ship mainly served as an escort for aircraft carriers in the South Pacific Theater, and after the end of the war it was recorded as the first US naval vessel to enter Tokyo Bay. San Diego was incorporated into the Pacific Reserve Fleet in 1946 and was redesignated as an antiaircraft cruiser after being reclassified as a different type of ship in 1949, before being decommissioned in 1959. San Diego was awarded 18 campaign stars for its achievements in World War II.
This kit is made of injection-molded plastic, this version includes deck mask seals and additional etching, as well as metal gun barrels. It is an excellent kit that reproduces the USS San Diego's appearance during World War II in delicate detail as an offshore model.
