Pit Road 1:700
Pit-Road brings us a kit with one each of the Kurahashi and Yashiro. These escort ships were commissioned in 1944 as the fifth and sixth vessels of the Mikura-type marine defense vessels. To strengthen their anti-aircraft and anti-submarine weapons, the main gun was changed to a high-angle gun, and they were equipped with one unit at the front and one continuous unit at the rear. Both Kurahashi and Yashiro survived World War II by engaging in fleet escorts for Manila and Singapore, and after the war, both were designated as special minesweepers in the Ominato region, and they were used on the minesweeping mission near Kikajima. In 1947, Kurahashi was transferred to England and Yashiro to China as compensation ships.
This kit includes parts to build one Kurahashi and one Yashiro, both as waterline versions. Color photo-etched parts are included for their flags and flagpoles, and ship nameplates are also included.
