The U-Boat VII type was a German Navy submarine developed and manufactured during World War II, and the C type was the main mass-produced Type VII, with 655 submarines built between 1940 and 1944. The U-96 entered service in September 1940, and made a total of 11 missions, sinking 28 ships and destroying four others. The novel "U-Boat," written by Lother Gunter Guccheim and based on his epxeriences on board the U-96 was made into a film in West Germany in 1981.
This model kit from the new manufacturer Neverland Models snaps together, and the parts are color-coded so you can get a great result just by assembling it; no paint is needed! A torpedo and firing effect parts are included, as is a stand for display; a sticker of the emblem of the 9th Submarine Group "Laughing Sawfish" drawn on the control tower is included too.
